Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist Access & Safety services at The Store House on Briggate, in Leeds city centre.
The Store House is the former House of Fraser store, which is being redeveloped into a purpose-built student accommodation scheme. The design includes 369 en-suite bed spaces made up of 238 3-8 bed clusters and 131 studios. In addition, there will be 3,099sqm of flexible-use retail floorspace at ground (1,523sqm) and basement (1,576sqm) as well as 527sqm of thoughtfully designed and highly specified amenity spaces accommodating a variety of uses including: co-working & study space, wellness suite, lounge and recreation areas, screening room and private dining with roof terrace.
Working with NRA/HG Construction, engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd will install SFS horizontal lifelines and SEP davit sockets. Horizontal lifelines are designed to act as a fall prevention method, or as a means of minimising the consequences of a fall should it occur. A davit forms part of an overall building façade access solution. It looks like a simple, small crane or gallows and consists of two main parts: the portable davit arm and the base plate or pedestal.
PTSG’s specialists routinely deliver a comprehensive range of fall arrest and fall restraint systems and equipment to enable operatives to work 100% safely at height.
