PTSG Shortlisted for Prestigious IOSH Award Recognising Excellence in Risk Assessment

PTSG has been shortlisted for the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Risk Assessment Initiative of the Year Award, recognising an innovative new approach to independent fire risk assessment that is helping organisations improve building safety across the UK.

The national shortlist places PTSG alongside organisations including ABB, Belron, Jacobs, London Ambulance Service NHS Trust, M Group, SPL Powerlines and Wales & West Utilities, recognising some of the country’s most significant health and safety initiatives.

The nomination celebrates the creation of PTSG’s independent Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) service, developed under the leadership of Tracy Gregory, General Manager of PTSG Fire Consultancy.

Launched in 2025, the service was created in response to growing concerns around fire safety standards and the need for genuinely independent fire risk assessments in the post-Grenfell regulatory environment. The initiative separates the assessment process from remedial works, ensuring assessors have no commercial interest in the recommendations they make and providing customers with impartial, evidence-based advice.

The service also introduced a purpose-built digital platform that has transformed the customer experience, reducing report turnaround times from up to four weeks to just ten working days while improving consistency, traceability and portfolio visibility for customers managing multiple buildings.

Since the launch, the team has worked with customers at 400 locations nationwide, delivering independent assessments across sectors including healthcare, education, social housing, commercial property and industry.

Greg Ward, Chief Executive Officer of PTSG, said: “We’re incredibly proud to see Tracy and the Fire Consultancy team recognised by IOSH. This shortlist reflects not only the quality of the service they have built, but their commitment to raising standards across the industry. Fire risk assessments play a vital role in protecting people, property and organisations. By creating a genuinely independent service, supported by experienced assessors and innovative technology, the team has demonstrated exactly the kind of leadership and innovation our industry needs.”

The IOSH Awards celebrate organisations and individuals driving innovation and excellence in workplace health, safety and wellbeing. Winners will be announced later this year.
