The Chair of SAEMA, Kyle Davidson, is set to take on a demanding 500km cycling challenge from London to Paris this June, raising funds for Cure Leukaemia.
Taking place from 4–8 June 2026, the London 2 Paris ride is widely regarded as one of the most iconic endurance cycling events in Europe. Bringing together participants from across industries, the challenge combines physical endurance with a strong charitable purpose.
Kyle, who has been involved with SAEMA since 2023 and became Chair in 2025, is also Regional Manager at Denholm Industrial, a business delivering specialist access and industrial services across critical infrastructure and marine sectors. His participation reflects the wider industry’s growing commitment to supporting charitable initiatives alongside professional responsibilities.
The four-day ride is fully supported, with participants travelling through the English and French countryside, tackling challenging climbs and long-distance stages before arriving in Paris. The event culminates in a memorable finale, with riders escorted through the city to the Arc de Triomphe and on to the Eiffel Tower.
Speaking about the challenge, Kyle highlighted the motivation behind taking part: “Every 27 seconds, someone somewhere in the world is diagnosed with a form of blood cancer. That statistic alone makes this challenge worthwhile.
“I’ll be riding alongside colleagues from Denholm and WPA, and together we’re aiming to make a meaningful contribution to a cause that impacts so many lives. It’s a significant personal challenge, particularly as endurance cycling doesn’t come naturally to me, but that’s part of the motivation.”
Funds raised will support specialist research nurses across the UK, helping connect patients with pioneering clinical trials and advancing progress in the treatment of blood cancer.
With training already well underway, Kyle is steadily building the endurance required for the challenge, balancing a demanding professional role with early mornings, long rides and consistent preparation.
