PTSG Strengthens Skills Strategy with L&D Appointment

Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has appointed experienced learning and development specialist Liam Goulding as it continues to invest in the skills and leadership needed to support the UK’s growing building compliance sector.

The appointment coincides with the launch of PTSG’s new Centre of Excellence in Manchester, which will become the company’s hub for technical training, apprenticeships, leadership development and professional learning across the Group’s nationwide operations.

Liam joins PTSG from J. Murphy & Sons, where he managed a £5.1 million annual training portfolio, leading the development of technical, behavioural and leadership programmes across a large engineering workforce. His previous experience also includes senior learning and development roles at JN Bentley, together with leadership training gained during his service with the Royal Engineers.

Working alongside Technical Training Manager Paul Campbell, Liam will help shape PTSG’s long-term learning and development strategy, supporting leadership programmes, apprenticeships and career pathways for colleagues across the business.

Kate Williamson, Group HR Director at PTSG, said the appointment reflects the Group’s long-term commitment to investing in its people. “As our business continues to grow, developing the skills, capability and leadership of our people is fundamental to our success. Liam brings extensive experience from highly regulated industries and will play an important role in ensuring our colleagues have the knowledge and opportunities to develop successful careers while continuing to deliver exceptional service to our customers.”

She added that the recently opened Centre of Excellence represents a significant investment in the future of the business. “The Centre of Excellence brings together technical training, leadership development and apprenticeships under one roof, creating an environment where our people can continually develop the skills needed to support customers across an increasingly complex compliance landscape.”

Commenting on his appointment, Liam Goulding said: “PTSG has an exciting vision for developing its people, and I’m delighted to be joining at a time when the new Centre of Excellence is creating even greater opportunities to invest in learning and professional development. I look forward to helping build the skills and leadership capability that will support the Group’s continued growth.”

The appointment forms part of PTSG’s wider strategy to strengthen technical capability, develop future leaders and attract the next generation of engineering and compliance professionals.
