EMCOR UK, now part of OCS, has won the 2026 RoSPA Water Sector Award for the third time in five years. The same year brought a RoSPA President’s Award for its Thames Water partnership and an eighth consecutive Gold Medal for its work with Anglian Water.
The Water Sector Award, presented by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, is judged across all organisations operating within the UK water industry, including the water companies themselves. EMCOR UK’s winning submission drew on the combined health and safety performance of its two major water sector partnerships, reflecting sustained, evidence-based safety leadership across a significant portion of the country’s critical water infrastructure. In each of the five years the award has been contested, EMCOR UK has either won or been Highly Commended, placing it consistently at the top of sector rankings.
Ten consecutive RoSPA Gold awards
The RoSPA President’s Award is reserved for organisations that reach this milestone, and EMCOR UK’s Thames Water teams have done so through a decade of sustained improvement in accident prevention and safety management, delivered year on year. The Anglian Water partnership’s eighth consecutive Gold Medal reflects the same depth of commitment: two accounts, one disciplined approach, consistently setting the standard in a sector where operational resilience and workforce wellbeing are paramount.
Achieving this level of recognition across two major water accounts, consecutively and independently, requires robust safety management systems, measurable performance improvement and a culture that places people at the centre of every operational decision. It also requires genuine partnership, where EMCOR UK and its customers have worked together to raise the bar for health and safety performance across the water sector. As EMCOR UK integrates into OCS, this record in the water sector provides a strong foundation for the combined business. Health, safety and risk management remain central to how OCS delivers facilities management across critical infrastructure, and to the company’s mission of making people and places the best they can be.
Kevin Childs, Operations Director, EMCOR UK now part of OCS, said: “These results reflect years of consistent, disciplined work by the teams responsible for health and safety across our water sector operations. Winning the Water Sector Award for a third time, alongside the President’s Award and a Gold Medal, confirms the standard we have set and the strength of the partnership approach that has sustained it. Safety performance at this level is built through genuine collaboration, where EMCOR UK and its customers have raised the bar together, year after year.”
