Volcano Coffee Works has been WeWork UK’s chosen coffee provider since 2015, delivering coffee, equipment and operational support across its extensive UK estate. The relationship combines the quality of independent specialty coffee with the infrastructure to deliver it consistently at scale, including barista sourcing, management and training, technical expertise and ongoing operational advice.
More than 10,000 cups every day
Across 29 WeWork workspaces and 34 coffee stations, Volcano provides a flexible coffee service incorporating staffed barista stations, bean-to-cup machines and filter coffee.
Together, these services provide WeWork members with more than 10,000 cups of coffee each day. More than 100 baristas sourced, trained and managed by Volcano serve approximately 5,500 of these cups, with the remainder provided through bean-to-cup machines and filter coffee stations. This equates to more than two million cups across the working year.
As well as fuelling and refreshing members throughout the working day, coffee plays an important role in the wider WeWork environment. Barista stations and shared coffee points act as natural spaces for members to pause, meet and connect.
A partnership continuing to evolve
Since its inception, the partnership has developed far beyond its original coffee-supply remit. In June 2026 alone, Volcano managed 874 scheduled barista shifts, achieving 99.65% service uptime, meaning barista stations remained open as planned with virtually no closures caused by staffing shortages or technical issues. Of those shifts, 94.4% were delivered by baristas sourced and managed directly by Volcano, rather than through temporary agency cover, helping ensure greater consistency in service, training and customer experience.
Recent developments include new mobile barista stations at two prime London locations, upgraded grinders, seasonal drinks and member activations, alongside work on a potential decaf bean-to-cup rollout. These initiatives demonstrate how the two businesses continue to adapt the coffee service around changing member preferences and the individual needs of each WeWork location.
Emma Loisel, Executive Chair at Volcano Coffee Works, said: “The longevity of this partnership comes from its dynamic evolution. WeWork’s needs today have evolved from when we started working together in 2015, so our role is to keep developing the service, whether that means new formats, better equipment, seasonal experiences or finding new ways to deliver consistently excellent coffee at scale.”
Quality, reliability and responsible sourcing
Volcano’s role spans barista sourcing, management and training, machinery, quality control and ongoing operational support, helping WeWork maintain consistency across a complex, multi-site estate.
Responsible sourcing provides an additional vital dimension to the partnership. WeWork serves Volcano’s Rise Up Blend, sourced from Rebuild Women’s Hope, an all-female coffee cooperative on Idjwi Island in the Democratic Republic of the Congo that supports over 15,000 women through the creation of coffee productions jobs.
Natalie Lovett, VP, General Manager UK & Ireland at WeWork, said: “We are incredibly proud to be working in partnership with Volcano Coffee Works to provide our barista coffee services to members at WeWork. Their dedication to social impact, hospitality and exceptional coffee is inspiring and energising!”
Against a backdrop of strong commercial growth, Volcano is increasingly demonstrating why it is the partner of choice for hospitality and workplace operators looking to deliver consistently high-quality coffee at scale.
Wholesale accounts for roughly 80% of the business, while Volcano grew by 28% last year and has trained more than 1,300 baristas over the past three years. Its service model spans coffee supply, equipment, barista sourcing and training, and ongoing operational support, helping operators in the restaurant, hospitality, gym and office space sectors strengthen both the quality and commercial performance of their coffee offer.
Speaking on the scalability of speciality coffee in the workplace Emma Loisel, Executive Chair at Volcano Coffee Works, added: “The WeWork partnership illustrates how the qualities traditionally associated with independent specialty cafés can be translated into a high-volume workplace environment. We’re really proud of how the partnership has grown, as it demonstrates the way specialty coffee can be delivered beyond independent cafés and into large workplace estates without compromising on quality or consistency.”
