Norse Security stepped up to the plate to help local social enterprise ‘The Feed’ after they were victims of repeated vandalism.
In early June, The Feed at Waterloo Park Pavilion was vandalised for the second time seeing much of its outside seating destroyed. The Feed shared this unfortunate incident on social media and how they had only recently purchased extra outside chairs and tables for customers to enjoy the summer weather.
Thanks to the power of social media, staff members at Norse saw the posts and jumped into action. Group Director of Operations Daniel Vanstone swiftly linked up with Café Manager Kate Weeds to provide a solution to keep the cafe safe from future crimes.
As a result, Norse’s emergency deployable cameras were installed, free of charge, connecting directly to our 24/7 365 monitoring station, the ARC, in Norwich. These battery-powered units, which have a battery life of up to 6 months, hope to serve as a deterrent and stop future vandalism.
Nathan Ashdown, from Norse Security, who installed the system, said, “I am so grateful to have the opportunity to support our local community. I have always been passionate about helping others who need support and being able to offer Norse Securities expertise gives me great pride. The work we have carried out at the Pavilion will ensure we are doing as much as possible to keep the local community a safe and enjoyable space for everyone.”

Café Manager Kate Weeds said, “To come into work and find some of our furniture broken was very upsetting and disappointing, as our cafe profits support people in Norwich who are having a tough time.”
