Broadcaster extends facilities management contract with Mitie

The BBC has extended its facilities management contract with Mitie for an additional two years.

Under the extension Mitie will continue to deliver an extensive range of facilities management services including engineering, logistics, maintenance, cleaning, and landscaping across the organisations’ nationwide property portfolio, such as its iconic sites in London, Cardiff, Glasgow, and Salford.

Through its Plan Zero consultancy services, the Mitie team will also continue to support the BBC’s pledge to reach net zero by 2030, and Mitie specialists will recommend ways to reduce carbon emissions and support the organisation’s decarbonisation strategy.

As well as the iconic Broadcasting House in London, the contract sees Mitie deliver services across the length and breadth of Britain, from the Shetland Islands to the Channel Islands, including a range of studios, and offices.

Simon Venn, Managing Director, Technical Services and Integrated Facilities Management, Mitie, said: ‘We are proud to be extending our relationship with the BBC as we continue to provide industry leading facilities management services. We look forward to trialling new technology with the aim of strengthening these services further as we continue to support one of the world’s most prestigious and highly reputed media organisations.”
