Savills Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Chanelle Gray, picked up the Head of Diversity & Inclusion of the Year Award at the British Diversity Awards, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

The awards celebrate leading diversity and inclusion champions, recognising achievements over the past year across ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity and religious beliefs.

Chanelle won the award against a shortlist of 11 nominees from firms including Clifford Chance, Capita, National Grid and the RICS.

Savills Ethnicity group was also shortlisted for the Outstanding Ethnicity Network of the Year award.

Commenting on the award, she said: “I am proud to have won this award, not just as recognition for me personally, but for the journey we’ve taken at Savills with our D&I agenda. This award is testament to all of the work many volunteers and allies put into our initiatives and actions every day.”

James Sparrow, Savills UK and EMEA CEO, said “We are thrilled that Chanelle’s contribution to life at Savills – in particular her work with our D&I working groups – has been recognised in this way. We have made huge progress as a business with regards to diversity and inclusion but we want to do more and we continue to strive to ensure that D&I is engrained in everything we do across the workplace.”

The awards ceremony, headline sponsored by Burberry, took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London and was hosted by Sky News presenter, Gillian Joseph, and NHS doctor and award-winning television presenter, Dr Ranj Singh.
