The new iCONstant data extractor fan provides real-time visibility of ventilation performance, helping landlords monitor system operation, identify potential damp and mould risks, and verify remedial works.
Airflow, one of the UK’s leading ventilation manufacturers, has launched the iCONstant data extractor fan, an intelligent ventilation solution designed to give housing providers unprecedented visibility of ventilation performance across their properties.
Featuring a factory-integrated IoT sensor and connectivity, the new fan captures operational and environmental data from the point of installation, enabling landlords and maintenance teams to remotely monitor performance and identify potential issues before they escalate.
The launch comes as housing providers face increasing pressure to demonstrate effective ventilation management and proactively address damp, condensation and mould risks within their housing stock.
The fan records temperature, humidity, dew point and airflow rate, with data transmitted to the COSIE homes® platform for remote monitoring and analysis. This visibility enables maintenance teams to identify emerging issues, assess likely causes before attending site, and verify whether remedial works have successfully improved conditions.
Installation mirrors that of a standard Airflow extractor fan, requiring no additional hardware or external monitoring device. Following installation, a simple QR code scan activates the device and links it to the monitoring platform.
A spokesperson for Airflow said: “We developed the iCONstant data extractor fan to give housing providers greater confidence in the performance of their ventilation systems. By integrating sensing and connectivity directly into the fan at manufacture, we’ve created a solution that delivers both effective ventilation and continuous operational visibility without adding complexity for installers or maintenance teams.
“This allows landlords to move beyond reactive maintenance and make more informed decisions about ventilation performance, damp prevention and asset management.”
