Healthy space specialist Envelo is calling on facilities management teams to place focus on creating more healthy environments, including the improvement of air quality, as the country returns to offices after Plan B restrictions were lifted.

The pandemic has placed more focus on the need for environments that reduce potential transmission of infectious viruses and harmful pathogens, whether transmitted through the air, on surfaces, or person-to-person.

Now, as offices return to normal operations, Envelo is collaborating with businesses to monitor, manage and maintain spaces to reduce transmission and futureproof business operations. Working with organisations that look after buildings over the UK, the company has just relaunched its website to demonstrate the wide variety of resources that are available to facilities management teams.

It is these resources that are helping facilities managers to contribute towards reducing workplace sickness and improving productivity. Not only does Envelo’s services help pinpoint where improvements can be made specific to certain areas in the workplace, Envelo also uses devices to collect data to indicate progress over time once solutions are implemented.

Ralph Izod, Managing Director for Envelo, said: “Facilities management teams have a duty to create areas that give users freedom from anxiety around health uncertainty, as well as demonstrating the measures they are taking to keep people safe.

Envelo essentially creates healthier workplaces and public spaces by using data to tangibly measure how healthy an environment is. By using a variety of tools such as air quality monitors and IoT devices, we can actively manage spaces to optimise health and wellbeing, and also improve productivity and space utilisation.

“By taking this data-led approach, we can provide previously unavailable data and analysis for businesses to create a sustainability plan to improve their workplaces.  Our system uses real time and historic data to improve the healthiness of the built environments we are protecting. By doing so, we are reducing environmental impact and improving sustainability and resilience.

“Most importantly, we can use that data to communicate effectively to users of that space – giving them the confidence that their wellbeing is looked after. In today’s health-conscious society, this is essential in improving health and wellbeing of the UK public in the longer term.

Envelo is prepared and ready to support facilities management teams in monitoring, measuring and maintaining health workplaces.”
