Savills Property Management has won the Facilities Management award by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) in recognition of its approach to data and building analytics for its facilities management across its property management portfolio, in conjunction with its software provider.
The awards, which took place on 1 March 2023 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London, recognise the people, products and projects that demonstrate engineering excellence in the built environment.
The judges said its entry demonstrated strong collaboration to maintain better environments, reduce carbon and provide improved outcomes. Savills knowledge sharing across all levels of the organisation through its Smart Academy was a particular highlight.
The judges believe that entries to this category proved that ‘data is king’, with some strong use of analytics. Savills also demonstrated that repair, maintenance and improvement projects can proceed in occupied buildings, and that this is not a significant barrier to reducing carbon emissions in existing stock. Savills plans to introduce data-led maintenance to 100 of its sites over the next two years.
Andrew Jackson, director in Property Management, comments: “At the start of 2022 we set out to achieve industry recognition for our use of data and particularly building analytics. This award recognises our hard work and the vital role data plays in property management.”
