Richard Cairnes has been appointed to lead the JLL Project & Development Services (PDS) team in life sciences in the UK. In his new role, he will lead the national team of experts across a wide variety of disciplines to deliver lasting value from built assets to JLL’s science and technology clients.
Mr Cairnes brings a breadth of experience to the team, joining from Currie & Brown, construction and cost management consultant, where he was responsible for the London and Southeast Pharmaceutical and Life Science team providing leadership and management.
Throughout this tenure, he had managed projects and programmes in secure and controlled environments in the pharmaceutical and life science sectors including high containment laboratories, clean rooms, GMP and research and development. His key client work and experience include central government bodies and departments, research institutes, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and higher education universities.
He is also a current and active committee member of the Association for Project Management (APM) Specific Interest Group (SIG), where he promotes project and programme management awareness, provides thought leadership on appropriate subject matter topics, encourages collaboration, provides knowledge sharing and transfer using appropriate tools, processes and areas of good practice and champions a programmatic approach to delivery.
