Wates secures £4.3m contract to deliver net zero homes for The Hyde Group

Wates has been awarded a £4.3m contract by The Hyde Group to deliver energy efficiency upgrades to 198 homes under the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Wave 2.1. This latest win reinforces Wates’ position as a leading provider of social housing retrofit services.

The project will see Wates install a range of energy-saving measures, including loft and cavity wall insulation, solar panels, LED lighting, air source heat pumps, and mechanical extract ventilation. This fabric-first approach aligns with the government’s target of achieving EPC C ratings for all social housing by 2030.

This contract adds to Wates’ growing portfolio of SHDF Wave 2.1 projects, which now totals over £100m for 17 social landlords. With a combined value of nearly £200m, Wates is delivering 42 social housing retrofit schemes across the country.

Our team has worked incredibly hard over the last few years to build our supply chain and secure the future of social housing retrofit; it’s our responsibility as leaders in the industry to continue to support our customers through to project completion to improve living conditions and energy efficiency measures for residents.”
