The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has presented Atlas Workplace Services with a prestigious global health and safety award. Following five consecutive years of receiving the top-level Gold Award, RoSPA has also awarded the facilities management and engineering maintenance business a Gold Medal. The prestigious international accolade recognises only those organisations which demonstrate exceptional commitment to health and safety over a long period of time.
The RoSPA Awards are the world’s largest health and safety awards programme, recognising those organisations and individuals who have set the highest standards in accident prevention. It is now in its 69th year and receives almost 2,000 entries annually from over 50 countries. Each RoSPA Award entrant is assessed against rigorous criteria with a focus on celebrating businesses and other bodies that are world leaders in shaping safer, healthier workplaces.
Karen O’Neill, Managing Director of Atlas Workplace Services, said: “The hard work that goes into achieving RoSPA Gold status for a fifth consecutive year has paid off and it’s a testament to our commitment to health and safety. This achievement reflects the strength of our occupational health and safety management systems, our commitment to risk control, and the proactive safety culture we continue to build across the business. Thank you to everyone who has helped us to win the prestigious RoSPA Gold Medal.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Growth Director, said: “Atlas Workplace Services should be proud of the hard work and commitment to keeping people safe that has resulted in a RoSPA Gold Medal, which honours those organisations who have achieved the highest standards in health and safety in the workplace. RoSPA regards Atlas Workplace Services as a strong example of the importance of making accident prevention central to any successful organisation, not just for the benefit of employees, customers and clients, but also society as a whole.”
Sponsored by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), the RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest running of its kind in the UK, and receives entries from organisations across the globe, making it one of the most sought-after achievement awards for the health and safety industry.
Dee Arp, NEBOSH Chief Quality Officer and the Head Judge of the RoSPA Awards, said: “NEBOSH is delighted to be the headline sponsor of the RoSPA Awards. Recognising excellence in health and safety is essential to ensure we celebrate achievement, but it is also about reinforcing a culture of care, accountability and continuous improvement. These awards serve as a powerful reminder that employee safety and wellbeing transcends borders and looking after our people, so they can go home safe, healthy and happy every day, also drives sustainable success and resilience.”
