Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been appointed to deliver specialist Access & Safety solutions at Shawbridge Arcade, part of Glasgow’s Transformational Regeneration Areas (TRAs).
The £15.7 million scheme, currently under construction, will provide 75 much-needed mid-market rental homes by spring 2026. Work began in May 2024 and forms a significant part of the ongoing regeneration of Pollokshaws – one of Glasgow’s key TRAs.
Once complete, the development will feature a mix of modern, energy-efficient one and two-bedroom apartments to meet local housing demand.
As part of the contract, engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd will install Mansafe systems to the roof areas. These systems are designed to safeguard operatives working at height, providing continuous fall restraint or fall arrest through a combination of anchor points, lifelines and traveller devices. This ensures workers can move freely while remaining securely connected to a safety line.
The Shawbridge development also has a strong focus on community engagement. Contractor CCG is working with local schools and colleges to support skills development, including curriculum initiatives with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW), local high schools, and a career-based event at City of Glasgow College.
PTSG’s involvement ensures that the safety infrastructure for those maintaining the new homes is delivered to the highest industry standards, supporting both the regeneration of Pollokshaws and the long-term safety of those working on site.
