A hundred and twenty-three workers were killed in work-related accidents in Great Britain in the last year, according to figures published this week by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
The annual data release covers the period from April 2021 to March 2022, during which time most pandemic restrictions were lifted and the economy began returning to normal.
The industries with the highest deaths were construction (30), agriculture, forestry, and fishing (22), and manufacturing (22); though agriculture, forestry and fishing has the highest rate of fatal injury per 100,000 workers.
Workplace and facilities management thought leaders have warned that employers arenโt doing enough to attract their people back to the office in new research released by IWFM in partnership with Ricoh.

Kingdom Services Group has acquired The Colvin Cleaning Group โ the Sussex based professional cleaning services provider to the private and public sector.
It will be business as usual for the Colvin customers and colleagues โ but with the benefits of Kingdom providing even greater capabilities, specialist knowledge, opportunities and added value that come from being part of a 7000+ colleague and ยฃ200m turnover organisation operating across a UK-wide office network.
And finally, Veolia proudly marched in this yearโs Pride in London parade, with its electric collection vehicle in vivid rainbow colours taking centre stage, alongside colleagues and allies, to support and celebrate its diverse workforce and the LGBTQ+ communities they serve.
More than a million people celebrated the 50th anniversary of the UKโs first Pride parade in London making this yearโs the largest and most diverse in the UK. With incredibly high footfall and a large footprint to cover, Veoliaโs collection teams cleared over 75 tonnes of waste from the parade and 105 tonnes from evening celebrations.
