Towards the end of September, construction of the new home of London College of Fashion (part of the University of the Arts London) was completed at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Based at East Bank, it is the UK’s newest cultural quarter developed by London Legacy Development Corporation. The building has made the most of modern methods of construction and eye-catching design to create an iconic structure befitting of its purpose.
Michael J Lonsdale provided project and construction management services on this impressive new facility, overseeing the creation of the state-of-the-art campus which supports 6,500 students and houses a world-leading research community, business incubation and social enterprise centre, public open spaces, galleries, libraries and archives.
In this project, engineers from MP Fire Protection, a constituent company of Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), provided sprinklers, dry risers and wet risers at the new college campus. This forms part of a total fire solutions strategy to keep building and users as safe as possible in the event of a fire.
PTSG is one of the UK’s leading providers of fire solutions. In addition to delivering fire suppressions systems and equipment, its engineers also provide passive fire services and security solutions, as well as support services and maintenance and general advice to help dutyholders understand their compliance obligations.
