Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is celebrating a standout achievement in its early careers programme, as apprentice engineer Jake Byrom has been named Apprentice of the Year 2025 at the ATLAS Apprentice Awards.
Held on Thursday 26 June at Hotel INNSiDE Manchester, the annual event recognises rising stars in lightning protection and specialist access, organised by the Association of Technical Lightning & Access Specialists (ATLAS).
Jake, along with fellow apprentice Tom Hughes — both from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd — was shortlisted for the prestigious AW Elliott Apprentice of the Year Award, with Jake securing the top prize.
Craig Channon, Technical Training and Audit Manager at PTSG, said: “Both Tom and Jake have a fantastic attitude to their work and will be real assets to the company. They’ve been trained to a high standard, with outstanding support from Conor Diamond throughout their apprenticeships.”
Delivered through the CITB and Bircham Newton Construction College, PTSG’s apprenticeship scheme plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of skilled engineers. The company’s commitment to professional development and industry excellence is further underlined by its continued recognition from ATLAS — a body that has set the standard in lightning protection since 1946.
This latest award marks a proud milestone for PTSG and reflects its focus on nurturing talent across its national network of engineers.
