Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors signs MoU with CSTT

The surveying profession is reported to have been strengthened by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICE) and the Chartered Surveyors Training Trust (CSTT).

Signing of the agreement is designed to provide a platform for future collaboration between the two organisations and signifies a commitment by both parties “to work together for the good of both memberships and the wider surveying profession”, said the official statement.

CICES CEO, Simon Hamlyn, said: ‘‘This MoU marks an opportunity for us to work on genuinely collaborative opportunities to further the principal objectives of our respective organisations – particularly the critically important and significant work required to encourage more young people into the profession.’’

CSTT CEO Terry Watts said: ‘‘Everyone you speak to agrees that to bring the career opportunities available in the built environment to life, we need to work together.

‘‘Sadly however, few organisations – with the best interests of the sector at their core – actually manage to truly collaborate.

‘‘But with CICES, we’re excited in particular to be partnering to get our ‘My Environment My Future’ programme to more young people, as well as prove that we can achieve more by working together. ‘‘Our sector needs new, more diverse candidates and young people deserve the opportunity to play a role in creating a better built world for their future.’’
