Relocation and furniture management contract secured

Office relocation service provider Business Moves Group (BMG) has been awarded a two-year contract with the option to extend for a further two years with Leeds Beckett University after a rigorous tender process.

It will be supporting Leeds Beckett on the relocation of campus buildings, as well as the redistribution and recycling of redundant furniture. The company’s environmental and sustainability solution was a key determinant in Leeds Beckett’s decision. The service includes a full, structured report of the furniture that is to be removed from the campus buildings, where it has gone, and, if it has been recycled, how it will be broken down.

A key upcoming project for the university is a move across to the Headingly and Civic Quarter campus. This will be supported by the company’s in-house team of IT managers, move managers, porters, and security teams.

The company reports its success in the education sector, with client references, was a key factor in the successful bid. It also offered the most comprehensive bid across the client’s scoring system, ticking all the relevant boxes.

Leeds Beckett University category manager in procurement of estates Sarah Beckett said: “We are delighted to be working with Business Moves Group as we begin our work relocating to our new campus buildings. We were particularly impressed with their account management and the structures they will implement to make the move successful. We are only a small team that look after a large campus estate, so their integration with us and adapting their practices to suit our situation is extremely promising.”

“Additionally, their sustainability offering was a key factor in our choice, as we want to make this transition as eco-friendly as possible. BMG’s was the only bid that covered such a wide grasp of the environmental aspects of this work.”

The company’s business development director for the North Graham Hardy and his colleague Gareth Smith were both responsible for securing the contract and managing all projects within the contract period.

Mr Hardy said: “Thank you to the Leeds team for entrusting us with your campus move. We are extremely pleased to have been chosen for or extensive service offering, and are looking forward to getting stuck in. As a national business with a hub in Leeds, we are pleased to be helping this local business and to be creating a great space for students and staff to thrive in.
