Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist Access & Safety services at Donna Nook Air Weapons Range in Lincolnshire.
Donna Nook Air Weapons Range is a Ministry of Defence site in East Lindsey, Lincolnshire. The range, as well as a now defunct airfield and radar station, was previously operated by the Royal Air Force and known as RAF Donna Nook.
Donna Nook is just north of North Somercotes and is also a 6.2-mile-long nature reserve with a large seal habitat in the early winter, maintained by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. It is the only national nature reserve in the UK on MOD land, and was opened on 18 July 2002 by Air Commodore Nigel Williams.
In this contract, engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd will install a mass friction anchor to the air traffic control tower, which will provide access for operatives to carry out critical maintenance work. Ground anchors and anchored systems have become increasingly more cost-effective through improvements in design methods, construction techniques, anchor component materials and on-site acceptance testing. This has resulted in an increase in the use of both temporary and permanent anchors.
PTSG delivers a comprehensive range of fall arrest protection and building access systems to enable operatives to work safely and effectively at height to carry our maintenance tasks on all kinds of structures.
