The Federation of Window Cleaners (FWC) has unveiled a special programme of seminars for industry staff attending the Manchester Cleaning Show.
The FWC, which will also entertain attendees by staging a national window cleaning competition at the show next week, is expanding its offer with a series of free talks from industry experts and leading business people covering a wide range of topics relevant to businesses and staff in the window cleaning industry.
The seminars, under the theme of ‘Taking your window cleaning business to the next level’, will be conducted in the theatre area attached to the FWC’s stand at the Cleaning Show (F30), over both 13 and 14 March, and topics include everything from cleaning windows safely to online payments for businesses. Each seminar will be 30 minutes long.
Window cleaners are also being invited to enter a national competition running over the two days, with prize money on offer on both days of £300 for first place and £100 for second and third places.
Terry ‘Turbo’ Burrows, the current Guinness World Record Holder, will be staging an official attempt to break his world record and hosting the event.
FWC Chairman and Safety Officer Andrew Lee said: “We wanted to improve our offer to members and also take the opportunity to raise the profile of the FWC further, so we are delighted to be providing an extensive seminar programme at the Cleaning Show, focused on providing useful information to colleagues and businesses in the window-cleaning sector.
“The window cleaning competition is always one of the highlights of the Cleaning Show and we hope the ample prize money we are offering will encourage many entrants.”
