Tarem Services, a social enterprise cleaning company committed to tackling in-work poverty and food insecurity, partnered this week (16th April) with leading UK construction and regeneration company Morgan Sindall Construction to deliver essential food support to residents in Brent through Tarem Services’ Mobile Foodbank initiative.
The distribution took place at St Raphael’s Family Wellbeing Centre, where local families were provided with free food essentials. Each bag included Easter eggs, generously donated by Morgan Sindall Construction supply chain partners. The atmosphere was uplifting, with volunteers full of energy and high spirits, united by a strong sense of community. In total, the initiative reached approximately 168 people, ensuring that those facing food insecurity across Brent could access this support, even if they weren’t able to attend in person.
This marks the first food distribution collaboration between Tarem Services and Morgan Sindall, who already work together through cleaning services contracts in Brent. The initiative reflects a new dimension in their partnership, with a shared commitment to delivering meaningful social value in the communities they serve.
The event was attended by Cllr. Tariq Dar MBE, the Mayor of Brent, who praised the collaborative effort and personally joined volunteers in handing out the food bags to families who attended.
Cllr. Tariq Dar MBE, Mayor of Brent, said:
“Today’s event is a powerful example of community in action. I see families, volunteers, and staff from all backgrounds coming together with a shared purpose and that’s truly excellent. Diversity is our strength, and initiatives like this, led by organisations such as Tarem Services in partnership with Morgan Sindall Construction and working closely with the Wellbeing Centre, show how we can tackle hardship through unity, compassion, and practical support.”
Titus Komolafe, Managing Director of Tarem Services, said:
“Our mission goes beyond contracts, it’s about tackling the systemic issues that affect working families, starting with food insecurity. We’re proud to partner with Morgan Sindall in a way that puts shared social values into action. This collaboration shows what’s possible when businesses lead with purpose.”
Norma Odain-Hines, Social Value Manager for Morgan Sindall Construction, added:
“This partnership reflects our commitment to the communities we work in. Supporting residents in Brent alongside Tarem Services is part of our wider ambition to embed social value into every aspect of our projects. It’s about building stronger communities – as well as better buildings.”
This food distribution was made possible thanks to the generosity of Morgan Sindall and the teams behind the specialist education needs projects across Brent. Because of them, food essentials reached families who needed them most.
To date, this marks the sixth distribution for Tarem Services Mobile Foodbank. More than 1,128 people have benefitted from the initiative since its launch – part of the organisation’s broader mission to provide sustainable support where it’s needed most.
