SCOTLAND has the chance to lead the way in housing innovation say industry bosses who were invited to present their solutions to the Scottish Parliament.
VASO by Eco, based in Dumfries and Galloway, presented its industrialised construction innovation to the Scottish Parliament’s Cross Party Group for Housing.
VASO by Eco is a world-leading circular housebuilding innovation which creates building solutions from structural composite panels manufactured from recycled glass, providing affordable, thermally efficient, low carbon dwellings which are rapid to construct.
Eco Group has responded to the UK’s need to build more homes more quickly by investing in a major new manufacturing site which will adopt industrialised construction methods and create up to 70 jobs.
The 60,000-square-feet manufacturing site in Dumfries, where the company will manufacture VASO by Eco’s innovative recycled glass panels for the housing and general construction markets, more than doubles the business’ footprint in the region.
VASO by Eco plans to launch a second production line at the Dumfries site by October 2026 and a third by October 2027. The manufacturing plant will immediately create 12 new jobs rising to a total of 70 new jobs within the next five years.
Gary Robertson, Eco Group Opportunity Strategist, and Simon Parrish, Chief Technical Officer, were invited to present VASO by Eco to the Scottish Parliament by Graham Simpson MSP.
They showed how VASO by Eco’s innovative composite build system enhances energy performance and accelerates decarbonisation in the built environment.

As well as contributing to the housing market in Scotland, VASO by Eco is also working on international projects. This included recently attending an Invest in Barbados event in the Caribbean, where the team discussed housing opportunities on the island and its surrounding areas.
