Sodexo UK & Ireland has secured a new five year contract with Leyland Trucks Ltd to continue delivering catering and hospitality services at the company’s Lancashire manufacturing site.
The agreement, valued at around £4 million, extends a partnership that has been in place for more than 20 years at Leyland Trucks’ 86 acre Assembly Plant in Leyland, where around 1,000 people are employed.
Under the new contract, Sodexo will continue to provide fresh, seasonal and affordable meals throughout the working day for the site’s workforce. The catering offer includes hot main meals prepared by on site chefs alongside lighter options such as salads, jacket potatoes and sandwiches.
Sustainability remains a shared priority for both organisations. Sodexo’s team uses its WasteWatch programme, a data driven system designed to monitor and reduce food waste across kitchen and restaurant operations.
Paula Stevenson, Managing Director of Corporate Services at Sodexo UK & Ireland, said the renewed contract reflects the strength of the long standing relationship between the two organisations.
“We are incredibly proud to extend our long standing partnership with Leyland Trucks. It is a company with a long heritage not just in the local community but as a leading UK based commercial vehicle manufacturer,” she said.
“We look forward to continuing our partnership for another five years, building on our 20 year relationship which is rooted in trust, shared values and a real commitment to doing the right thing for people and the planet.”
Ieva Petermane, Commodity Manager at Leyland Trucks Ltd, said Sodexo plays an important role in the day to day operation of the site.
“Sodexo has grown into a vital part of our Leyland Trucks community. Its dependable service and people focused approach help ensure our teams feel supported and looked after every day,” she said.
Sodexo’s Corporate Services division provides workplace services, facilities management and food services to organisations across sectors including professional services, financial services, pharmaceuticals, media and technology. Its teams operate in environments ranging from corporate headquarters and regional offices to data centres, manufacturing facilities and research and development hubs.
