VIVID Celebrates Women in Construction Week

VIVID, a leading housing provider and the 6th biggest housebuilder amongst housing associations in England, is celebrating Women in Construction Week 2026 by spotlighting the women driving its major developments forward.

Charlie Pharoah joined VIVID as a project manager three years ago and has since progressed to delivery manager, now leading a large team and overseeing developments across the South of England.

Charlie said: “Since starting out in the construction industry, I’ve seen a really positive increase in the number of women out on site and working behind the scenes to deliver development projects. It shows how the sector is becoming more inclusive, something I’m immensely proud to be part of. Over half of our development team are women, from all walks of life, committed to delivering much-needed affordable housing for our customers. I’d encourage any women considering a career in construction to go for it — it was truly the best decision I ever made.”

Georgia Stoner, Assistant Project Manager, echoed this: “Working in construction for the past four years has shown me how empowering this industry can be. Lots of people still picture construction as men in hard hats, but women are out here doing the job too and there’s absolutely no reason we shouldn’t be. Being part of this industry makes me feel confident, capable and proud of what I do. There’s room here for anyone who’s driven, curious and ready to take on challenges. And that’s what makes the industry so exciting.”

Hannah Scanlan, Senior Project Manager, added: ” I love working in construction because no two days are the same, there are always new challenges, new skills to learn, and endless opportunities to grow. One of the highlights of my career has been project managing VIVID’s gateway regeneration scheme for Portsmouth, Victory Quay. It’s our flagship development and being part of such a transformative and highly visible project in the city is so exciting. Contributing to a scheme of this scale and significance has been a standout moment for me.”

VIVID has maintained equal gender pay for the past few years and continues to embrace diversity, creating an environment where everyone feels they belong, feels welcome and can do their best work.
